Enhance Duo Review: The Most Overlooked Foam Paddle Right Now

Enhance DUO Review Cover

Enhance has quietly put together a strong run of releases this year, and the Duo is another good one. It’s a bit overlooked, but fills a gap for players who want a power foam paddle without the typical stiff, hollow feel, while still offering a solid sweet spot.

Instead of following the floating foam trend, the Duo uses a ridge perimeter with an EVA band (image shown below), giving it a different construction and response. It’s nice to see something new here, and it actually works.

These sit in the mid-range power tier, but the feel is what stands out. Rather than that hollow, trampoline-style response, the Duo feels more stiff/dense that gives you some feedback for touch but keeps that foam sensation for a comfortable experience.

They come in three shapes, all with solid sweet spots, and retail for $200. You can get $20 off with code PBEFFECT.

Paddle Summary

60-Second Verdict: The Enhance Duo is a really solid option if you want a power foam paddle that’s easier to control. It doesn’t have that super explosive, hollow feel most foam paddles have. Instead, it’s more dense and just more predictable overall. You still get enough power to finish points, but it doesn’t feel like it’s running away from you. I think this is one of the better options right now for players who are curious about foam but haven’t loved the extreme hollow feel most of them have. It’s not the most powerful paddle out there, but for a lot of players, that’s actually a good thing.

Shape Options & Specs

Measurements are from my test units and may vary.

Duo Elongated

  • Static Weight: 8.1 oz
  • Swing Weight: 119
  • Twist Weight: 6.3
  • Balance Point: 243mm
  • Handle Length: 5.6″
  • Grip Circumference: 4.25″

Traditionally weighted elongated with solid specs. Can feel heavy, but tunable with a 12g Cap Coin.

Duo Widebody

  • Static Weight: 8.1 oz
  • Swing Weight: 112
  • Twist Weight: 7.1
  • Balance Point: 240mm
  • Handle Length: 5.4″
  • Grip Circumference: 4.25″

Slightly heavy for a widebody, but plays well. No tuning needed. Carries through the ball better than most while staying maneuverable.

Duo Hybrid

  • Static Weight: 7.9 oz
  • Swing Weight: 114
  • Twist Weight: 6.8
  • Balance Point: 240mm
  • Handle Length: 6″
  • Grip Circumference: 4.25″

Unique 6″ handle that feels longer, but still good sweet spot. Plays way better than you expect on court. Adding weight in throat balances it out nice.

Tech Talk

With the EPP foam core extending all the way to the edges, it reduces some of the extreme trampoline effect you get from some full floating core designs, which makes this paddle more controllable for a power paddle. At the same time, the thinner core perimeter ridge paired with the EVA foam bands still provides enough pop to keep it firmly in the power category.

On-Court Feel & Play Experience

Key Performance Traits

  • Dense, more muted foam feel (not hollow or overly springy)
  • Mid-tier power category that’s usable and controlled
  • Good pocketing that helps with placement and resets
  • Solid, forgiving sweet spots across all shapes

Power & Pop

Mid-level power with a more controlled, less explosive response.

The Duo plays with a different response profile than most foam power paddles. Instead of that instant, trampoline-style pop, it’s more grounded and consistent. The ball doesn’t jump off the face as aggressively, which makes it easier to control your pace and placement.

You still get enough power to finish points, but it doesn’t feel like it’s running away from you. It sits in a really nice middle ground where you can swing freely and stay aggressive without constantly managing power.

As you hit harder, the paddle firms up and gives you more pop for counters and putaways. So there’s still a dynamic element to the response, just not as extreme as typical floating foam builds.

Control & Forgiveness

Controlled response with solid forgiveness for a power paddle.

Because the power isn’t overly reactive, the Duo is easier to manage in softer exchanges. Drops, resets, and placement shots feel natural, with just enough pocketing to guide the ball without feeling overly soft or disconnected.

The sweet spots are solid across all shapes and never got in the way. It’s a forgiving paddle overall, especially for something in the power category.

It’s power isn’t perfectly linear like a good all-court paddle, so you’ll notice a bit more variability in touch situations, but it’s still more controlled than most foam power paddles.

Feel & Maneuverability

Dense, slightly stiff feel with a tunable balance profile.

The feel is one of its biggest differentiators. It’s more dense/stiff compared to the typical stiff/hollow feel that has flooded the foam power category. It has a more muted feel in general with a bit of stiffness that keeps you connected to the ball.

  • More muted and controlled than most foam paddles
  • Firms up on harder swings for added pop
  • Less “trampoline” effect, more predictable response

Out of the box, it plays well, but I liked them better tuned.

The elongated has a more head-heavy balance, so adding weight in the throat or using a Cap Coin helps improve maneuverability. The widebody comes in lighter, which gives you the option to add weight on the sides for more plowthrough and a bigger sweet spot.

Comparisons

In terms of raw power (from most to least), I’d slot it like this based on my experience and power tests:

  • Selkirk Boomstik
  • Vatic Pro V Sol Pro
  • Bread & Butter Loco
  • 11SIX24 Power 2
  • Enhance Duo
  • GRUVN LAZR 16X Full Foam
  • Six Zero Coral
  • Honolulu J2NF

The Duo lands right in the middle of the pack. It’s not as explosive as something like the Boomstik or Loco, but you get a noticeable bump in control. On the flip side, it has more offensive upside than paddles like the Coral or J2NF. But it really carves out its own lane with a feel profile that’s different from all of them. It’s the only one in this group that has a stiff/dense feel for the stiff/hollow of those above it and the soft/dense feel of those below it.

Enhance Duo Feel Map

Who It's Best For

The Duo is one of those paddles that won’t jump off the page in specs or hype, but makes a lot of sense once you actually play with it. If you’ve been curious about foam but haven’t loved how extreme most of them feel, this is one of the better options to try.

Best For Players Who

  • Want a foam paddle but don’t like the hollow, overly explosive feel
  • Are looking for controllable power that you can actually trust in hands battles and resets
  • Prefer a more dense feel with good pocketing

Less Ideal For Players Who

  • Want maximum power and putaway speed above everything
  • Like that stiff, hollow foam feel
  • You’re already playing well with a high-end power foam and don’t need more control
