The Vatic Pro Prism-Flash 16mm far exceeded my expectations. At only $100, it feels like I’m getting away with something due to its exceptional performance. This paddle has earned a spot on my Hot List for two consecutive years and remains unchallenged.

With a very pleasant, soft feel, it effortlessly facilitates drop shots and taking speed off the ball for resets and dinks. If you struggle with your soft game, this paddle can enhance it.

Its hybrid shape provides a little extra length while maintaining a good-sized sweet spot and a lower swingweight of 114. This lower swingweight enhances maneuverability and control in a way that traditional elongated paddles don’t.

On the power side, it won’t generate substantial power on its own, but it does respond if you can create your own. Other control paddles can offer more power, I describe this one as a pure control paddle.

Regarding spin, the raw carbon fiber face—not always seen at this price point, especially from established brands—delivers good spin.

This is one of the best control paddles available, and it’s only $100. The only reasons I might not recommend this paddle are if you’re looking for more power or don’t like paddles with a soft, plush feel, and prefer something firmer with more feedback.
