2024 Hot List Gold Award

Six Zero is a new brand this year. They did what few other new brands do and actually made an innovative paddle. They released two performance paddles and this is one of them.

There are two features that make this paddle really stand out. 

1) A raw fiberglass surface. Raw carbon fiber paddles are everywhere, but Six Zero is the first brand to give fiberglass the same treatment. People love raw carbon fiber for the spin and control but complain that it lacks pop. This raw fiberglass surface gives you the same spin but with the power that is missing from carbon fiber. 

2) They added some foam around the edges to increase the size of the sweet spot and then added a lightweight carbon layer around the edge to seal the whole paddle together. This helped increase the size of the sweet spot which is typically notoriously small for fiberglass paddles.

The power is there but not overwhelming and can be tamed with its high spin rating and stable nature. It does have a harder feel to it compared to raw carbon paddles but it’s not an ugly feeling like a Selkirk Power Air. I could control it well though it doesn’t enhance your soft game the way a pure control paddle would.

We were impressed with this one. Its combination of spin, power, stability, forgiveness and innovation make it a complete all-court paddle and gives it a well deserved gold award in our Hot List.

The only real downside to this one is the lack of shape options. It only comes in one shape and it would be nice if they had an elongated version to pair with it.

The bottom line: If you’re looking for an innovative paddle, this is a good one. It has the makings of a solid all-court paddle though it’s a little weaker when it comes to feel.
