There are only a few big power paddles out there and the Paddletek Bantam series offers several of them. You can expect good power from the baseline and even more pop at the net. The series come in multiple shapes and widths though only the 12.7mm options offer the big power and pop. The pop is so big on these that they should be reserved for more advanced players who can manage the big pop or you’ll find yourself popping more balls than you’d like. But if you can manage it, you’ll win more exchanges at the net than you have with any other paddle.

The three shape options:

• TKO: Elongated shape with mid (TKO-C) and long (TKO-CX) handle options. These have typical swingweight numbers associated with their shapes with the TKO-C being lighter than the TKO-CX.
• ALW-C & ESQ-C: Both of these are widebody options though the ALW shape is slightly longer and narrower, but the difference is marginal. Picking between the two comes down to handle length preference. ESQ has 5.5″ handle while the ALW has a 5.25″ handle. Both shape options are very light.

Many players prefer these paddles to other high-power options because they offer predictable performance. Many other high-power paddles incorporate foam, which can lead to inconsistent shots due to unpredictable flexing and rebound. The Bantams, however, feature a classic foam-free core construction, ensuring reliability, durability, and consistency. This allows for greater precision and control compared to other power paddles.

One downside to these paddles is that the top fourth contains a large deadspot, making the paddles feel shorter than they are. However, the widebody options are so light that you can add weight near the top of the paddle to improve the sweet spot without the paddle becoming too heavy. This customization is not as feasible with the TKO options.

Overall, if you’re looking for a paddle to elevate your net game with improved counters and offensive shots, these are the paddles for you. The enhanced consistency and durability are a major plus, especially if you tend to go through paddles quickly.
