Our Review:

Trufoam Genesis paddles use a 100% foam core instead of polymer and is the most promising new core technology I’ve encountered. CRBN solved the foam core challenges plaguing everyone that’s tried. They use a high density foam that doesn’t lose its shape and is very rigid so that it doesn’t “break in” and get too hot over time. This way they get the benefits of foam and its unique feel and reduced vibrations without the unwanted performance changes after use.

The series is all-court leaning power paddles with above-average power and middle of the road pop. They have a natural, intuitive feel that is springy, soft, and responsive, and generally comfortable due to reduced unwanted vibrations.

Every paddle in the Trufoam Genesis series is 14mm thick. They offer better sweet spots compared to other 14mm paddles, but not as good as a typical 16mm paddle. The spin is excellent, and while they provide good offense though the power isn’t overwhelming. The standout feature of these paddles is their intuitive feel – they feel more natural and easier to connect with than polymer core paddles.

The series offers three shape options, but the CRBN 2 widebody shape is the way to go. While the CRBN 1 & 3 models feel great and play well, they are too heavy. The CRBN 2, with its weight similar to a typical widebody paddle, offers the best performance among the three. If you do want to go with one of the elongated options then you’ll want to customize them with a Slyce cap to make the weight more manageable.
